Why are chips so fun?
We spend hours with many people we would never willfully spend time with otherwise, and most of us can actually make more money online, so we must be playing live because of the chips, right? Why are they so much fun to stack and straighten and toss and shuffle and twirl and spray?

Re: Why are chips so fun?
I dunno, but after your last post I'm seriously considering playing some 2/4 the next time I'm in a casino and buying in for no less than 5 racks.

Re: Why are chips so fun?
You know, this thread, aside from being very amusing, presents a good question - what is so alluring about playing live if we generally can make more money playing online?

2. free drinks - even less than at home unless someone else bought the six pack 3. Cocktail waitresses are hot! (generally) 4. Being with people is fun 5. Spending your winnings right away at a good restaurant is fun 6. Coktail waitresses are hot! |

Re: Why are chips so fun?
I don't think that's true, at least at high limits. You will never find a 40-80 or 80-160 game online close to as soft as those that can be found in Atlantic City. Yes, online is faster, you don' have to tip, etc. But the live games are SO much softer, I think it could be argued that playing them is more profitable. One other interesting thing is time pots used at Borg...many times, I play totally rake free because of this (very few others seem to adjust). So it might be cheaper than playing online for me as well. Plus, to me it's just more fun. For something like 3-6, multitabling online is certainly a better deal.
