Default First Job Interview

Being the microlimit player I am, I've been applying for some jobs because I'm taking some time off from college. I got a call for a interview tomorrow to work as a cashier at a cafe and I have no idea what to expect. How should I dress? What should I talk about? Any advice would be good, thanks guys.

wow..... I had my first job interview when I was 16....

Well, it sounds like a low key job, dress business casual, you know a collared shirt/khakis or something. I would expect them to ask you if you have experience cashering, what kind of jobs do you like, why do you want this job? Stuff like that.

Good Luck.

Wow, I'll let others rip you.

Its a cafe--dress "smart casual"---clean, decent slacks, some sort of appropriate short-sleeved button down, polo, etc. Tuck it in, but don't look "dressy." Nice shoes--match 'em with the belt, not like it matters at most food service jobs. Prepare to answer questions about your cashhandling---many employers are leery of individuals who haven't been in charge of cash before, because it always goes missing. Prepare at least three job-specific questions, so you don't have a long, awkward silence when he or she asks if you have any questions. Look directly in his eyes, speak with confidence, and poise yourself to look relaible and responsible. All he wants is someone quick, competent, and unlikely to steal their money. Think about how to reflect those things. Explain your lack of employment history by your relative youth. Make sure he has the impressiong that you will be around for a while--rehiring low-end workers every month sucks, and they may not give you the job if they expect you bounce soon. Be friendly, but not verbose. Etc. ad nauseum. I am an expert at getting jobs, if only I could keep them.

Promise you'll refer him to Party with a bonus if you get hired.

You're in college and you've never interviewed for a job before.  and now you're interviewing for a cashier job?

why not an internship in your major or something that pertains to your major?

wait... you're not a liberal arts major are you?
