Default River Decision

2/4 6-Max

I would've posted in SSSH, but this hand is multiway and everything.

CO and Button limp, I complete the SB with JTo, BB checks. 4 to the flop for 4 small bets.

Flop comes TJ4r. I bet out, BB calls, CO raises, Button cold calls, BB calls, I 3-bet it, they all call. 4 to the turn for 7.75ish big bets.

Turn is 9. I bet, they all call.

River is another 9, no flush possible. Whats my action?

No real reads but hunches. They seem to call too much, but raise with real hands and such.

What about check folding or check calling depending on who bets?

yuck, my first thought was bet/call, because a 2 pair hand with a 9 would have prob raised the turn. If they had a 9, so be it. I'm not really worried about an overpair.

But I guess there's value in checking and calling, asuming someone will bet a busted draw. I don't know, I think I'd still prob bet. But going two bets here is prob really bad for us.

Against players who call too much and raise with real hands?

Bet. JJTT9 still beats JJ99Q. If they'll only raise Q9 or KQ on this river, bet-fold, otherwise bet-call. Depends on action, of course.

Since it's four-way a lot of things might but come up, but I think I'd be very comfortable betting and calling a raise here.

I don't think a raise is really that horrible for us. Anyone with a 9 has it purely incidentally, and since 9s-full isn't that likely because the turn wasn't raised, we're really only worrying about stuff like Q9, K9, and 89, which may not be present. Some opponents might think the 9 helped them suck out on J4 or whatever.

I bet not really sure what to do about a raise. I guess it depends on who does the raising. Luckily everyone just called. BB showed Q9o. MHING.

b/c. They will call down with all sorts of fun stuff in 6-max games like 55, 66, J7, A4, etc etc. I don't really like the idea of b/f'ing here, the pot is big, and people can get out of hand in 6-max games. I think when you get to the river with a real hand, you gotta showdown.
