Default Something we\'d like to see...

Many of us have heard multiple times that Doyle Brunson has claimed that he could beat most players at NLHE w/o looking at his hole cards provided that his opponents did not know that he was not peeking. Interesting claim. How true it is seemed somewhat untestable since live players would catch on as to his no peeky strategy.

Online however, It would be entirely possible for him to conceal this strategy for obvious reasons.

I have no idea how it would actually be shot or whatever, but wouldn't it be cool to see him put his money where his mouth is by playing maybe ten $10K buyin games. It would certainly give his room some much needed exposure.

I'd like to see it at least. I'm sick of hearing that claim repeated over and over and would like to see it tested. Whether his claim is true or not does not concern me, just the fact that it is made in light of its untestability.

He said this many years ago, and it was meant to illustrate a point. Don't take it too literally, especially not today.

I imagine that not being able to see the other players might be a factor for him.

I would much rather see a cage death match between TJ Cloutier and Phil Hellmuth. Go, TJ!

With a billion chips each and the blinds at 1-2 you might reconsider.

Wasn't he talking about the power of position when he said that? Didn't he say he could win without looking at his cards if he had position?

Personally, I'd rather see a cat fight between Evelyn Ng and Jennifer Tilly, but that's just me. :/

"Doyle Brunson has claimed that he could beat MOST players at NLHE w/o looking at his hole cards "

If you play poker than you know most players suck, i have no doubt he could do this. It's not going to be hard to pretend to look at your cards and not actually look. Sometimes in my home games, where the buy in is small $10 and I get bored i will do this same tactic once and a while and can win off of it.

Online, it would not be possible for him to do this, this whole strategy comes from the basis you can read people.
