V Tech -20 v Duke

The game I like most this week is v tech -20 @ Duke.


Here's why: (FYI VTech41 Duke17 last year @VTech)

1) V Tech will run run run
Duke held East Carolina's rush attack to a little over 100 yards, while V TEch had a tough time rushing against one of the best d-lines in the country (120 v NC State). Expect the backs to get out in the open against Duke. V Tech ran for 250 last year against Duke and V tech's offensive line is stronger than last year.

2) V tech's secondary/pass rush will create turnovers
Though NC State threw for over 300, V TEch's defense made the big plays at the right times and came down with 2 picks and a few sacks. Duke's passing attack was disasterous last week against ECU (less than 200 yards and 3 picks). Expect similar stats from the Dukies this week.

3) Duke's rushing attack will be stuffed
Duke only ran for about 160 last week against ECU. (The Pirates gave up over 230 rushing yards per game last year playing in conference USA.) Duke had 108 rush yds last year against VTech on 42 carries. Duke lost 4 starters on the offensive line from last year. VTEch returns 5 of their front 7. VTech did give up a big 44 yard run last week, but still kept NCState under 130 for the game.

4) V Tech is always solid on the special teams.

5) Duke is coming off a disappointing loss to East Carolina! VTech already has a tough road win under the belt.

On the other hand, can VTech throw the ball?

I had this play last year, and VT let duke have a last minute(under a min)scoring drive, they were up plenty, and didnt care about the back door cover...they F@#ked me good last year...lay off this one. [img]/images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img]
