Default 88 in the BB

I think I made a bunch of mistakes with this...figured I'd let you guys chew me out to boot.

SB is a LA-P calling station. Donkbets bottom pairs, ace high etc...will call down with any of these hands as well. Raises with a lot of junk pre-flop. Has shown K3o at showdown with an ace on the board... On my buddy list

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 5 folds, Button calls, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (4 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG+1 checks, Button checks.

Turn: (2 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, UTG+1 folds, Button folds, SB calls.

River: (6 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: 6 BB

No duude.
The pot is 3BB and you have just a pair of eights against 4 opponenst. DOn't even bother calling, raising. If you won the hand, good for you but you made a wrong play.

You ask for advice and this how you show your appreciation? Hemstock is right, fold the turn.

You're probably way behind at the turn.

There are five cards (three As, two Qs) that would put you at an extreme disadvantage, out of 46 unseen cards on the table. The odds of a "killer card" being in any specific location, therefore, are (5/46)=10.9%.

There are six possible "killer card" locations: the six cards that your collective opponents hold. Aggregating their individual odds, there's a (10.9*6)=65.4% chance that someone has you dominated. (This ignores the possibility of someone having a higher pocket pair, so the odds of you being dominated are actually somewhat higher.)

So, in roughly two-thirds of the potential scenarios, you're already down to two outs. You can't win enough in the remaining potential scenarios to break even, unless the players behind you continue to put money into the pot. And by raising, you made their decision to fold pretty easy.

Raising is the worst possible move. Calling isn't good either, because you can't guarantee that the players behind you are going to stay in. You've only put one SB into the pot at this point; kiss it goodbye and wait for a better hand.

I might also enjoy a preflop raise, but just because I'm a 6max fiend.
