Default QQ overpair

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) converter

UTG+2 ($41)

UTG ($78.65)
UTG+1 ($50)

Preflop: Hero is CO with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.5.
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG+2 raises to $2</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $5</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB (poster) raises to $9.5</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, UTG+2 calls $8, Hero calls $5.

Flop: ($31) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
SB checks, UTG+2 checks, hero?...

I was thinking I should play for set value when I called the $5 preflop because of all the action. After the flop when it checked around I thought my queens may be good. What's my line here?

What does SB (poster) mean? He posts on these forums? I guess that is pretty important here, because no one on these forums is 3-betting preflop out of position without a good hand.

Also your preflop re-raise is a bit too small, I'd probably make it 7-7.50 if I was going to re-raise at all.

Hmm... and as for the flop, if he is indeed a semi-decent player, I'd probably check behind on the flop. You're in serious danger of pot committing yourself against someone with aces or kings going for the check/raise. See what develops on the turn.

For Party $50, Unless you have a read that the reraiser is a good player, I try to get all in preflop. Same goes for the flop.

EDIT: IGNORE THIS, THOUGHT IT WAS 6 MAX

I think poster just means he posted the small blind. I don't think there were any 2+2ers at the table.

If you're looking for me to elaborate, I was thinking one of them could have kings or aces, but I thought one of those would have bet out here.

I've wondered about this. On 6max is it profitable to move of honor with QQ?

I raise more preflop.

On the flop it's pretty tough. I'm leaning toward pushing becuase your hand is good more often than not and needs to be protected. Although, checking behind is probably good too since you have position, and on the turn if its checked to you again or if someone makes a small bet then you can push.
