55s, two AK hands. Standard?
I just want to make my line in this situation is standard. Two AK hands, both early.
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (10 handed) Hero (t1120) MP3 (t1205) CO (t685) Button (t1195) SB (t940) BB (t895) UTG (t1030) UTG+1 (t975) UTG+2 (t830) MP1 (t1125) Preflop: Hero is MP2 with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. UTG raises to t200, All fold to hero. My stadard line is just call here. I don't want to get into a coinflip here for my whole stack. A raise is pretty much doing just that. I usually then jut play aggro if I hit TPTK, and fold if not (I'm like 2:1 on flopping an A or K, right?). The only thing is, I see a lot of morons who are pushing worse Aces here and I'm not sure if I'm giving up EV. |

Re: 55s, two AK hands. Standard?
I think the first one I call because I have position and am very likely to get a continuation bet even if I hit TPTK (and, if I do, and he has a better hand, I'm going broke unless it's a VERY scary board). I may even smoothcall the flop if I hit TPTK and look for him to push on the turn.
On the 2nd hand I may push here to isolate, but I'm expecting a call from UTG+1, and hoping for a coinflip (bit of dead money in the pot makes this +EV I think). This is also because I hate playing this hand from UTG. |
