Default Running bad or playing bad, beginning to wonder Hand #2

Live 5-150 spread limit. I am down to $225 and haven't played a hand out of the blinds since hand #1 I posted.

PF: UTG (~$1200) raises to $50 which is at the top end of a standard raise for the table, MP (~$500) calls, folds to me on the button with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and I RR to $200, folds to UTG who calls as does MP.

Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], UTG leads for $25, MP calls, I call AI for $25.

Yes, I see a problem with your play. Your too shortstacked to get full value out of flopping top set.

Tell me about it, I was steamed that I had not pulled out the top off cash before the cards were dealt.

I doubt it, because I am not going to post results, as the post is not about results.

I am 99.9% sure I played this right other than being slow on the trigger topping off to the max buy-in before the hand was dealt.

I had pulled out $200 and layed it on the rail as the dealers pitch started and said "topping off" loud enough for the whole table to here it (as it should be). But the new dealer said it did not play because the cards were in the air when I said it, even though I did not have a card yet. I did not want to make a big deal of it and let it slide, before I looked at the cards. Man was I steamed when I looked...

I've never played spread limit before, is there a min/max buy in at that game?

In this room, yes. I have heard of it spread with a wide limit like this with no cap.

It plays mostly like NL, at least until the pot gets bigger than the max bet of $150 anyway. So you try to isolate PF and build a big pot with a made hand on the flop/turn and hope you dont get sucked out on the river.

this hand is stupid

leaving yourself wiht $25 is suspicious

get it all-in preflop and sit back and revel in the slansky bucks

why is this even posted

a hand where you get 50%+ of your stack in pre-flop with AA should never be posted

I'll have to agree that this post is pretty pointless. I'm curious how you managed to lose this hand though.

While I agree this hand is pointless the OP was forced to only bet $200 because it was Spread limit not NL.
