Re: Bellhorn.
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Who? [/ QUOTE ] Who? [/ QUOTE ] that guy who hit home runs in game 6 and 7 of last years LCS, and was one of the best offensive 2B in all of baseball in 04. [/ QUOTE ] That's Franconalike thinking. He stayed with the guy too long this year(thank god he got hurt) as he has stayed too long with Millar. He was marginal at best last year and downright awful this year. [/ QUOTE ] I'll take it easy on you because you're an old person and probably have only a rudimentary understanding of baseball statistics, but Mark Bellhorn had an 817 OPS last year which is awesome for a 2B. He had a .373 OBP and a .444 SLG. He also had 17 homers, drove in 82 runs, and had 37 doubles. And that's not even counting his defense at second. It's pretty sad that a Sox fan didn't know that. And for comparison purposes, Soriano had an 807 OPS last year. |

Re: Bellhorn.
He stays on the DL/goes on rehab assignment until rosters expand. He and Adam Stern spoon on the bench from then on.

Re: Bellhorn.
Agreed. I can see small market teams going the Rule 5 route but not contenders.

must be a lot of good lawyers in this thread. Now we got arguments that stikeouts aren't bad. And OJ was innocent.

actually you have arguments that strikeouts are relativly the same as any other out. the difference between a popup and a strikeout is miniscule. |

Re: Bellhorn.
Bellhorns numbers last year with Man on 3rd less then 2 outs...
30 AB 11 Hits 6BB. .367/.382/.833 with 31 RBIs. Not too shabby at all. Bellhorn last year was great at getting a guy home from 3rd with less then 2 outs. Last year his numbers with runners on were significantally better then bases empty. Too say he was mediocre last year is foolish. He was the best 2nd basemen in the AL. Some people just fail to understand that that the difference between striking out and any other out is extremly insignificant. |
