I wouldn't raise that hand preflop at the PLO8$25 tables -- you can't do enough stealing postflop to justify it, and your hand doesn't have much high potential.

On the flop, I would call the min bet looking for a miracle four, but fold to any significant action.

On the turn, I would raise the maximum, not the minimum. You have a nut-2d nut hand, and you want to get as much money in as possible.

On the river, I bet whatever I have left. Tough break on getting quartered.

God! when are you lazy people, gonna just write about the hand, and GIVE ME THE FREAKIN' details, not expect me to sift through some #$^@#^@#$^ hand history! You want the top expert in omaha, in the WORLD (by far) to advise you, please write out the details of the hand, in your own words.

NOt only does the hand history make it IRRATATING (yes, even more irratating that ATE) to try to get the pertenent facts, but it does'nt include information, like pot size.

Poker is about being UNlazy, so you may as well get used to it.

Anyway, there was no way in hello, that you should have folded the river. Since you rated to lose 25% of your final bet, AT WORST, yet gain 25% of the pot prior to the river (approx 6-7 dollars) you come out four bucks or so ahead, on the deal. And, this presupposes that someone esle, is CERTAIN to have the A2 along with you (Ed note: the realization that they DON"T always have it, or even MOST of the time, is one of the first ESSENTIAL lessons you will NEED NEED NEED to learn, if you are to totally master this game.)

It's very very easy, for the turn bettor, to have the same straight as you, the river bettor now makeing a non-ace deuce flush, and the straight calling the size of the pot, and WISHFUL THINKING.

and, it's REMOTELY possible, that no one has the flush, and the river bettor was a chicken shift, who waited until there was no counterfeit card, before finally betting HIS(her) ace deuce. So, you still could have gotten 3-4 of that pot.

Not very likely, but it DO happen. In the most likely scenerio, you lose 2.5 bucks from our final bet, yet gain 6-7 from a quarter of the pot previous to the river, for a net win of 4 or so bucks.

In the absolute WORST CASE event, you get a sixth of the pot (approximately 4 bucks) and lose half of your river bet
(approx. 5 bucks) for a net loss of one buck.

So, the most you can possibly lose, by calling the river, is a buck. The most you can lose, by folding, is 33.

And, the scenerio I mentioned, is not like a once a lifetime thing, or anything like that.

But, most of the time, you are gonna make the four bucks on the call

HEY YOU PUNK BRATTY ATE DETRACTORS: IF YOU CANNOT SEE THE SOPHTISTION THAT ATE HAS, BY READING THIS, YOU HAVE NO HOPE WHATSOEVER.

sitck, TO PICKing on people, who are giving you FREE help, that REALLY MAKES A TON OF SENSE

Well first I would have not raised preflop. I would have called and let other players in. You have a speculative hand. Raising with your hand does not make sense. I think you played the flop correctly by calling. You have the nut low draw and a scoop to a 4. The flush draw does devalue your hand a bit though. On the turn you caught the four and raised which I think was the right play but you should have raised the maximum. On the river when the flush card comes I would have checked. I check for a variety of reasons-One-your bet will not make a better hand fold here. If he was chasing the flush he just hit it, you won't make a small flush fold on a $25 dollar table. 2nd the only hands that will call you will most likely 3qrt you. Also by checking you may induce a bluff by a set or other weaker hand.

Those are my thoughts.

Robert
