Default Flopping a Set

I was recently playing in a 5+1 1k guarentee on Empire and was in the small blind with KK (blinds 15/30). I raised to 100 before the flop and only the big blind called. The flop came 2s, 5s, Kc. I checked, my opponent bet 90 and i raised to 250 and was called. The turn was 9d. I put him all in and he called, showing a Q/10s and hit a jack on the river for a straight. Did i make the correct play by check raising my set on the flop and putting him all in? I figured that he was on a flush draw (if he had any idea what he was doing). Just wondering what some other ways i could've played that were. If I lead off into him, he's more than likely gonna call with a queen high flush draw, but was i correct in moving him all on the turn?

yeah, dont stress that play, that was a bad beat, plain and simple. your opponent sounded like the kindof guy who doesn't last long in any tourney, though his riskiness (and dumb luck) might get him to be a big stack at some point.

You put him all-in and he called with a gutshot straight draw, a dumb play and profitable to you, although not on this occasion.

So, ask yourself this, if you were to replay this same hand
x number of times, how far ahead would you be?

Moral of the story : don't worry about the result here, thinking you misplayed the hand when the opponent made a horrendous play.

Looks like he had a flush draw as well.
