Default Is this moronic?

I felt like this was way too much gambling too early but I couldn't let her go.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (9 handed) converter

UTG (t1100)
Hero (t1445)
MP1 (t820)
MP2 (t1985)
MP3 (t1635)
CO (t1385)
Button (t2120)
SB (t1720)
BB (t1290)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
1 fold, Hero raises to t150, 4 folds, Button calls t150, 2 folds.

Flop: (t375) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets t50, Hero raises to t350, Button raises to t1970, Hero calls t945 (All-In).

Whats the buyin?

20 or less, I probably make that play too, though its -EV.

Its just too pretty to have a gutshot royal, and 12 outs... 1 of them being the royal 10.

He's probably on kq, or possibly qq.

Tell me you hit the royal! =P

i would go ahead and push on the c/r. it's not pretty - you wanted him to bet more - but you're going to be in a tough spot if he calls and the turn bricks.

once you raise and he pushes, insta-call.

I actually would have done the same thing. What do I know, I only play the $22's.

Hmm. Getting 2000:950 on your call (~2:1). Worst case scenario he has KK which makes you a 33-67 dog. I think this is an easy call.

I would raise less though. 350 basically commits you and seeing him come over hte top makes you sick. Make it 200-250 and go from there.

Let's pretend you had AKo here. Would you just call the flop bet?

Button has you on his hook.

Its the ability to drop a -ev hand like this that separates winners from losers.

Yes, it would be kewl to get the RF, but winning is a much better feeling.
