Default need help getting a room in LA

I have been trying to book a room at Commerce for either 2/10-2/13 or 2/17-2/20 but they have been 100% booked for over a month.

Does anyone know if I can get a room through the poker room. Also how far and how good is Commerce Plaza Hotel.

Thanks for your help.

I dunno about booking through the poker room. Give it a shot, but I imagine the reason it's booked solid at that time is because of the LA Poker Classic (which I believe is a WPT event) going on then.

IIRC there's also a Wyndham near the casino which looks nice. In case you haven't caught it elsewhere, you WILL NEED a car to get around in LA. Don't plan on walking from your hotel to the casino.

I'm staying at that place catty-corner to Commerce that looks like a dump. Value Inn Suites or something. I've heard it's not actually a dump from several players during the California State last year.

It has a kitchen and all that stuff, which is what I wanted. It's about $30 per night if you do a weekly.

I'm sure Wyndam and Crowne Plaza are much nicer, but I just need a place to crash, I'm not picky about rooms.

If you absolutely cannot find a thing at this late date, do what we did last year. We stayed in Alhambra, which was about 10 minutes away (never any traffic, go figure), at the Super 8. Usually Super 8's are dumps, but this one was very nice, in a good, residental neighborhood, and only cost $35 per night.

commerce plaza hotel is OK, and its really close to commerce, its like an upgraded motel 6, but if youre looking for something nice you could always drive from downtown L.A. where they have ur typical chains, its only like 10-15 mins to commerce, just take 5south
