Default BB ?/100. x.x per hour? What is it?

I've seen this alot since coming to 2+2 but I can't find an explanation. Would someone be so kind?

BB/100 = Big Bets per 100 hands dealt. A big bet in limit hold em is the bet you have to make on the turn and river. So at 2-4 it would be 4. Therefore 2BB/100 would be $8.00 per 100 hands.

It has nothing to do with time. If you want to estimate how long it takes to play 100 hands then you can convert to BB/measure of time.
