No reads. Am I way off here? I have NO CLUE how to play SH, so if you can find me at a table, take a seat and take my money.

Is a turn bet that out of the question here?

I'm all for taking free cards but with this board it's possible BB has overcards and took a look at the turn. By checking we allow him to not fold the turn and bluff at the river. ?

Getting C/R on the turn would blow but I feel a bet may be worth it.

I think it depends on your read. But yes, sometimes I think a turn bet is in order.

Without a read, I lean toward checking on that board.

nh, sir.

I'm a pretty big turn bettor in situations like this, however, I like the check here for a couple reasons. First, I think the likelihood of hero being checkraised on this board is fairly high, either by a bluff, pair, or straight. Of course, he'd have to call this checkraise and could only have 9 outs which would kind of suck. Secondly, QJ has little showdown value here (unlike something like AXs or Kxs with flush draw, which does).
