Another AKo U/I
Seems simple, but I have been second guessing these decisions lately.
Villian is complete unknown...what's my river plan? Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (8 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is MP1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 2 folds, Hero raises, 2 folds, Button calls, 2 folds. Flop: (5.50 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, Button calls. Turn: (3.75 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, Button calls. Assuming the river is not an Ace or a King, what is my plan? |

Re: Another AKo U/I
Looks like a check-and-fold. If it's a jack, king or ace, you bet. Against an unknown you can't call a river bet, or against almost anybody for that matter.

Re: Another AKo U/I
When he calls the turn bet, it's hard to imagine him not having a pair of some kind. Bet any jack king or ace, check-fold anything else.
I hate these hands too. |

Re: Another AKo U/I
The board is pretty drawless. Hence, the calldown is pretty likely to represent some kind of hand here (at 2/4 that could be top pair or second pair or an underpair). Many passive 2/4 opponents would not bet this river as a bluff.
I think I check and fold here and do so pretty confidently against an unknown. |

Re: Another AKo U/I
Oh yeah, and, whatever you do, please don't bet this river.
