Default Red Sox = Defending World Series Champions

Fixed your thread title.

Although I can only imagine how one win must feel to Yankees fans worldwide after the worst collapse in the history of sport.

Well done.

I love it. Every year in the past Red Sox fans make the statements such as "We're ahead of the Yankees now" early on in the season. My Yankee fan friends (or just Red Sox protagonists) at such times would simply say "Just wait until the end of the season and see where everyone stands then."

Yep, they're bottom of the standings. With only 161 more games to go...

I don't remember the last time the Sox won on Opening Day. I'm not that concerned. Also, they have won 8 of their last 9 games. The Yankees have lost 4 out of their last 5. What do you have to say to that?

there is a minor league team in Portland, and I plan on going to a few games.

But, I have cable so I can watch a lot of games as well. SO basically I can root for the M's, Yankees, Nationals, Giants, Twins.... ah [censored] it, basically everyone. Baseball rules.
