hate it. im doing what id normally do on a saturday night, but now i have to buy [censored] tickets to get into the bar and have it be jammed wall to wall with people and its supposed to be the best night ever.
just annoying

I enjoyed it immensely in college and just after, when all of my good friends from high school were guaranteed to be in town. It felt like an event most of the time. Now that careers and such have gotten in the way of that, it's not a big deal at all. I still enjoy it for what it is though, which is usually a low key night with a few good friends or family.

Biggest NYE I've done was probably a few years ago - maybe 250-300 people in a warehouse I was living in. But I've had a good time with 25-30 at a smallish cocktail party too.
