That's a pretty good flop for you. I think I'd C/R. If he three bets you. I think you can fold the turn. If he calls, lead the turn.

c/r the flop & lead the turn. If you get raised on the turn, you're probably beat. But I really hate giving a free card here.

My standard play would be to checkraise the flop and go from there. If we assume his high pfr% equates to a larger than usual range of 3-betting hands, I think you're looking good against his range of hands on that flop.

My second choice would be to call the flop and lead the turn.

I like the check/call on the river given his check behind on the turn.

Yeah, I think this is all right. Or I'd probably play it the same, anyway. The preflop 3-bet represents a big hand, and being more aggressive postflop won't necessarily get you reliable information (especially against a 4.5 aggression guy) and in fact could lead to you folding the best hand (or calling down more expensively when you're beat).

Things are looking good when Button takes the free card on the turn (which I wouldn't have expected), but then the river card adds ways to lose. So I wouldn't be so happy while calling the river bet, but that's probably what I'd do.

I think that from the turn action, it's pretty apparant he had overcards. I should not have included the turn action in the post, but i also had a question about the river. I agree though that I should have bet the turn. Whether to c/call or c/raise the flop is better, i'm not sure. c/r sounds good though. Am i good enough on the river to call. I know that betting would be awful, but c/c vs c/f given how i played the hand, i'm not really sure.

I wouldn't want to fold the river against an agressive opponent.

I don't think a button 3-bet from an MP1 open raise indicates a big hand, depending on reads this could be as far as any mid pocket to ATs. I don't like folding anywhere here to a guy that aggressive. I think a flop c/r will allow you to fold cleanly on the turn, but I think call/call/call also has merit.

AK is mathematically more likely than AQ, at this point, but against an 18/14 guy, it's possible we need to throw in hands like KQs (but at the same time, maybe we should also include hands like ATs). Also, though, he's pretty much always betting top pair, whereas he'll check behind with AK sometimes. I'm not sure we should rule out something like 88 either, by the way, though I think he'd be less likely to check behind with that on the turn than with overcards.

Anyway, I think you can call. You haven't shown any postflop strength, and he could be trying to buy the pot.
