You can believe me or not, it's cool with me either way, but about a month ago we had a guy flip over A2 with JQK on the board. Guess what he said he had? Yup..."The wrap around straight". He was a bit confused and the floor was called. Later he admitted it was his first time to a casino and was laughing at himself...he was good natured about it.

I work at least 8 hours a day, at least 5 days a week in a poker room. It really is amazing the crap that goes down sometimes. Why would anyone make up a story to post here anyway? I guess it might happen....locking up the thread would be excessive IMHO.

oh i believe you buddy, you work in a cardroom? cool, you must hear all kinds of stuff. i'm just saying i'm sure the truth has been bent on a couple of stories to make it sound more interesting. anyway, /rantmode off...i'll sift through the rest and see if anymore funny stories pop up.

Oh MAN what a thread!!

Where to start?!?!?

In Hollywood Park, low limit, I heard all of the following in a two-hour span:

(from a guy who hit a straight w/ 3-5 offsuit and raised preflop): "man, I had my first kid when I was 35, so that hand has some spiritual meaning to me. I always raise with it."

(from a guy who obviously just missed a flush draw): "damn man, I never win with a chinese dealer - chinese dealers NEVER give the black man his card" (the dealer was clearly filipino).

"Man I ALWAYS lose money with these, so I'm throwin' them away" (from a guy who FOLDED POCKET ACES PREFLOP AND SHOWED THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

"yo man, you play way too tight. It's no fun to play your way." (from a guy who had rebought twice to me, who was up $200 at a $2/$4 table)

"see, that's why I like playing low cards. Nobody knows that you have 'em. Plus, big cards never hit the flop for me. I've been throwing away big cards lately." (from a woman who busted my nut flush by boating 84o).

I don't think anyone is "clearly" Filipino, unless he's draped in the national flag.

OK fine, I suppose that you're right. But he certainly wasn't chinese.

Either way, the implication that the dealer's race determined the cards that the dude got is probably the most absurd thing that I've ever heard at a table, hence my post.

Default Time to lock this thread.

It's a good thread, but it's time to lock it. Folks can always link to it if they want to get a few chuckles.

I have no Superpowers in this forum, so I can't do it. Other mods?

If you live in an area with a large Filipino population, they're not hard to pick out..,
