Default Hand against Dane.

Villain is Dane aka Dane S aka Danenania.

Preflop: Jeff is BB with 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
Button :#A500AF(Dane)/ raises, 1 fold, Jeff calls.

Flop: (4.50 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Jeff checks, Dane bets, Jeff calls.

Turn: (3.25 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Jeff checks, Dane bets, Jeff raises, Dane calls.

River: (7.25 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Jeff checks.

In hindsight, I believe the river check is a mistake.

Good except for the river check, as you already said. He value bets most hands that beats you, and checks behind hands that you beat but may call a bet on a board this drawy.

Turn c/r is good. Flop c/r would be ok too. Obviously c/r is much better than check call because you want him to fold hands that have 12 outs vs you for 1 bet.

C/R flop is my second choice. I don't like donking turn because I don't really do it with anything else.

I'm not sure why you think my line is very bad, I think it's debatable, but I think a turn check-raise takes advantage of Dane's relentlessness and it forces him to play straightforwardly after the raise.

We're not playing 10/20.

I like the turn CR as a change up play. Value bet the river is my play, but since you didn't, if he bets I think you should checkraise again. Do you live in San Diego now? We should go play live sometime.

Just a guess:

Turn 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Jeff Checks, Dane Checks

River A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Jeff Bets, Dane Raises

Yeah, I live in San Diego. I'm not too big on live play, but if you want to have a few beers and shoot the [censored], I'm down.

Ugh why checkraise again. I would probably check-fold the river if I checked it, if Dane knows who you are.
