Default Kids at Commerce -- beware!

Every week some kid comes in here posting about which casinos don't card, and where you can play in SoCal if you're under 21. Everyone rightly has answered Commerce, which never cards.

Not anymore.

They've really stepped up their security. A young-looking Asian guy walked in the side entrance (the one near the bathrooms and the 1/2 & 2/4 tables) right in front of me, and immediately a guard stopped him: "Hey sir!" And then I walked past them both and he stopped me too. "Hey, sir! You too!"

I am over 21 and look it. A few months ago they wouldn't give me a second look, and the kid in front of me would be at a table already, up a rack.

So kids -- bring a fake ID now when you go to Commerce.

I carried a fake (a ficticious person) for a few years, mainly to buy alcohol. Advocating this type of stuff isn't very wise. I would really hate to get into a debacle with a casino over a "real" fake ID (a felony to have one in the state of California). It is bad enough getting a long funny look at the local mini mart. I would never in a million years carry one of these into a casino (I'm 22, but I would not advocate it for the good of everyone).

Well, OK -- on the record I am not encouraging the breaking of any laws (*ahem*). But I just mean bring SOME kind of ID if you have one. If it's real, all the better. Be advised that if you go to Commerce expecting to not get carded, you will most likely be surprised now. That is all.

I had a friend who tried to get into one of the Chicago area casino's a few years ago with a fake ID. The casino caught him, had him arrested, and he was hauled off to jail in handcuffs in the back of a police car. Then I had to leave the casino and go bail him out. Admittedly, the Illinois gaming laws are more extreme than most other states, but I would never recommend anyone to try and get into a casino with a fake ID

I didn't know Commerce was 21+, I was planning on going there too. What happens if they catch you while playing? You can still cash your chips before they throw you out right?

Thanks

Wow this is bad news. I wish I would have made it up to commerce before this happened. Was the young asian guy named GoT?

No. GoT was too busy getting pwned in Connect 4 by yours truly. He is still licking his wounds.

1.) Has anyone ever been in a very large pot with a under 21 appearing player and called for ID check in the middle of the hand as a form of angle shooting?

2.) Commerce has checked ID's for years. I played there since I was 21 and got carded twice in the first few years. It's not often they check though, and I definitely did not look to be even 18 let alone 21. Once security recognizes you, they will not check your ID and will assume you are ok to be there.
