He did not cause that guy to kill himself. Nobody caused that but the guy. It's sad and I am sure the dude needed some serious psychiatric care, but [censored] didnt cause it. A normal healthy person would not kill themselves just because a masturbation tape got distributed.

He obviously thought something was going to happen to him (arrested, exposed) and made the pre-emptive strike....against himself. However, i don't see me feeling bad for a long period of time.

So in the tradition of the thousands of Suicide Prevention classes you had to attend, were there any types of warning signs? (like did he at least offer you his CD or porn collection)

As a commander, I can tell you that possession of Child Porn (depending on how much/content etc) will often get a minimum of a Special Court Martial, confinement, loss of rank/pay, and a Bad Conduct Discharge. If his CO finds out about this stuff (which was only a matter of time since his tape was broadcast for all to see), his prospects were pretty dim.

I don't think [censored] has much responsibility for this guy's suicide. The tapes/pictures he had are an obvious indicator of serious mental issues. The episode may have served as a catylist for him taking his own life, but given what was happening inside his head, it's hard to imagine him NOT doing something to hurt himself at a point later in time. [censored] probably just accelerated an inevitible eventuality.
