Default 88, hidden mid pair.....ugh

SB: somewhat decent postflop
CO: CS, watch out if he's raising

Absolute Poker 1/2 Hold'em (6 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is Button with 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
2 folds, CO calls, Hero raises, SB 3-bets, 1 fold, CO calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (10 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB bets, CO calls, Hero calls.

I'm not really scared of the CO, really loose flop calls.
SB, He could have an ace, PP, maybe he misssed.
Is this considered a WA/WB situation?

This is an area of my game that needs work.
My current line is to call this all the way down.
(unless someone raises)

Can anyone provide a better line?

You don't have the odds to continue. Try this exercise, tell us how many outs you have. What are the current pot odds? What are the odds of hitting your hand? How many bets can you make up if you hit your hand?

One thing I can say for certain is that this is not a WA/WB situation. For one, your much more likely to be behind. And two, if you're ahead, you're not way ahead. If you're ahead, SB has 6 outs. Just fold.

Yes!
I understand now, I need to give him more credit for the PF 3bet.
The pot is laying me 11 to 1.
To hit my set... 2 outs, is about 23 to 1.
CLEAR FOLD

Even if I am ahead (I see now, slim chance), I can get outdrawn fairly easily. (Flush, straight, any card higher than an 8).

Hi zPro.

Just fold the flop unless you know something about Villain that you're not sharing.

Two 8's left in deck 2 outs
ok, Backdoor str8 draw, 1.5 outs
Backdoor flush draw 1.5 outs, discounted to .5 outs for one card, the 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. (would give me Open ended str8 flush draw)
So 4 outs?
I need 10.75 to 1, and i'm getting that?

*grunch*
To me this is a raise or fold situation. A raise may gain you control of the hand, if they are inclined to check to you on the turn. Plus, its not fun to fold 10BB to one bet.

That being said, I'd still fold.
The fact that the SB reraised you preflop and the CO called 2 makes me think there is an Ace out there, or at least a larger pocket pair. If by chance they both missed, they still may have the outs on overcards or FD. Those nasty reverse implied odds or something.

I fold and move on to the next hand.

You did all the work. It looks like a pretty thin edge on the flop. The turn is going to define this hand then.

You seem to know what you are doing. Good job.

unless you think you can make him fold another midrange pp with a raise here, just fold the flop. calling down is pretty bad
