Default Different strategy playing 800 chips SNG vs 1500 chip SNG

any diff strategies you guys use? I have been playing the 1500 chip sit and gos on full tilt, now started playing the 800s on party and am getting frusterated with them. Less chances to make moves, seems like you have to play tighter with less chips and can't splash around as much in pots.

You just outlined the "different" strategy you need to use.

That seems like a fair assessment. I am also curious about this.

Haha, i just started a thread simliar to this today and SilentBob has been talking about this as well. I play only 1500 chip sitngos. But you really kinda hit the nail on the head in the first post. With 1500 chips, you can afford to see a few more cheap flops while in position. The games obviously take a little bit longer also. I play turbo's with 1500 every so often, and I feel this is close to the 800 chip tournies. You just have to be slightly more patient/tight early. I think your analytical skills have to be a lot stronger to play the 800 chips as well. you really have to have a strong understanding of when you are in +EV situations.

I like the longer 1500 sit and gos. FT is good cause the blind rounds are 10 minutes long. I think it favors the better players. I feel like I am playing something that resembles more of a poker game lol

That's how I feel about the non-turbos at PS. Like the 6x$35s or 9x$30s. I feel like I need to worry some about chip accumulation early. Also I love it when you get to HU on level 4 or 5. Get to play some real poker there. Obviously doesn't lend itself to 8-tabling, which is why you don't see too many of the same faces, which also makes the game softer. It's fun to push around the weak-tighties.

Also I think these make a nice training ground for some of the decisions/strategies that come up in MTTs, if your schedule doesn't permit you to play a lot of actual MTTs.

Who wants to play in a game that actually requires skill to make money? I'm perfectly happy making tons of money per hour without knoing squat about post flop poker.

hehehe. I don't make much online I make most of my poker money playing live. I feel that the 1500 SNGS give me good practice for MTT and improve my live play. Also I am playing the 10+1 so that is nothing compared what I would normally buy in for at 1/2 NL live.

Difference is PP 800 is not poker, that does not make it bad, but not poker... Since is started using this with little to no variateion have been running about 25% ROI

The PP 800 chippers and PS turbo 1500 chippers are essentially the same (weird, huh?) except the opposition has *slightly* different inclinations about what is 'good' poker and you spend more time at ridiculously high blinds and very low blinds compared to your stack (less time at levels that are ~10xBB).
