Folded to me and I raise, Button 3 bets, he is a good
full game player, but has not fully adjusted to
playing a short.
Both blinds fold, I call
the flop is a A75 rainbow.
I check he bets I call
turn is an offshuit T, completing the rainbow.
I check he bets I raise, he 3 bets, I 4 bet, he 5 bets
and I fold.

Default Is this a serious post?

If not, good one. I smiled and almost laughed.

If so, that's the worst fold in the history of folds. You have a set on a board with no flush or straight possibilities. At least check/call to a showdown at this point. If he has AA or TT, so be it. 2 hands beat you, and I won't bother to list the hands that don't.

You have invested $120 in this pot. Another $40 to showdown.

yes it is serious, he was a stright forward, very tight full game player, and he will not 3 bet with may hands preflop, and he will 5 bet with even fewer on the turn, give that hand what could he hold that I am in front of? It was a very close fold, but not a joke.

I don't know what you're looking for us to tell you?

I guess, if you put in a 4th turn bet planning on folding to a 5th, then why not just call the 3-bet then bet out again on the river (and call a raise...or check/call, if you absolutely prefer to play that weak-tight)?

What is so bad about this fold, this is a home game and he knows his opponent very well, he has 1 out if hes behind and the hero knows that when that player puts in 5 bets, he is going to have the nuts over almost all of the time. Just cause he has a set why does he have to go to showdown, he has the 3rd nuts. I think he played it well if he really knew his opponent, good lay down.

you're getting 13.25-1 on the turn call to close the action. if you absolutely KNEW you were beat (somehow) then i guess a fold would actually be correct, since you only have 1 out. but the point was why didn't you just call 3 bets and check call the river if you thought there was a chance you were behind. it just seems strage.. like, whoa he 3 bet.. that could be a lot of hands... then, whoa he 5 bet, i'm dead here.
