Default An Overpair Fold - 99

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) converter

Preflop: Ponkers is SB with 9c, 9d.

1 fold, MP raises, CO calls, 1 fold, Ponkers calls, BB calls.

Flop: (8 SB) 4c, 8h, 2c (4 players)
Ponkers checks, BB checks, MP bets, CO raises, Ponkers calls, BB folds, MP 3-bets, CO calls, Ponkers calls.

Turn: (8.50 BB) 7h (3 players)
Ponkers checks, MP bets, CO calls, Ponkers folds.

MP is a multi-tabling regular (as am I, I'm pretty sure he knows me), pretty straightforward, too tight, not too aggressive, but still plays well postflop. He plays about the same number of hands as I raise preflop. If MP had just called the flop raise I would have checkraised the turn. Not really sure how he would play big clubs here though.

The way you played it you got the info you was beat, but you would've failed to protect your hand if you was ahead. I just 3 bet the flop, the way you played it good turn fold. (Unless he's capable of pushing a flush draw like this)

So what do you do when he caps it on you on the flop? Do you just check/fold HU? What about if the 3rd player is still in? Seems like the pot is getting pretty big now.

Thanks

3 bet 9s pf? If not 3 bet the flop definitely. And after you call all that stuff cold, I hate foldign the turn/river. I want a showdown.

If the 3rd player stays in I expect him to check the turn with a couple of high clubs, even if he's capable of capping the flop with them, so I like a check/fold UI. If the 3rd guy gets out of the way he could fire again, but I still think I fold since he's fairly straightforward.

Edit: Maybe we shouldn't fold the turn if the other guy gets out of the way since he doesn't know we have an overpair since we didn't 3 bet preflop.

Well, he had QQ here, so it turned out to be a good fold. I liked my play here, but I guess others don't as much :]

I can't imagine 3-betting this outta position with 2 players already in here.
