Re: 888 on the Flop
I appreciate the comments 4_2.
I didnt want to flat call and guess after the turn with maniac potentially coming along when there are so many over cards that would scare me. I really thought I had the best hand here |

Maniac folds; Button ponders and calls tabling 66 and MHIG.

Close one, and nice hand! Even if I don't like the way you played it.

Re: 888 on the Flop
[ QUOTE ]
harsher responses than I thought. My thoughts. Button would have raised with a high pair especially after 2 limpers. So I thought there was a good chance he had an underpair and raised to protect his small house. Outside chance he limps 99 here though. Maniac, I frankly did not care about. If he had a pair, he'd have raised preflop. I thought he had overs. If he has the case eight, so be it. Feel free to criticize this thought process . . . [/ QUOTE ] Ok...since you asked. Your line wins the least against hands that are drawing dead against you, and loses the most against hands that have you crushed. This is a WA/WB situation as it's relatively assured that he didn't raise with just overs. You are beating 22-66 and it has only running quads to beat you, and you have only running quads to beat 99-AA....I call down here. If he checks to me on the turn I consider a value bet. |
