For all of you kids in college, First Year Analyst jobs are pretty incredibly crappy and just within your reach. Especially crappy if you enjoy sleeping.

Maybe not the worst job, but definitely one of the crappier jobs I've heard of: One of my good friends in college had a summer job once where he worked for his dad as a product tester. What did he test, you ask...recliner mechanisms. Yup, the factory made the spring mechanism inside lazyboys so my friend's summer job (along with numerous semi homeless people) was to sit in a chair, recline, incline, recline, incline etc. etc. all day. It paid a few cents per cycle, but the kicker was that after doing it nonstop for about 10 minutes your arm was so tired you had to rest it for a while. I think he did this for a few weeks before he found a better job.

Cheers,

Swede

A number of years ago I worked as a deckhand on tugboats in New York harbor. We worked 6 hours on/6 hours off around the clock for up to two weeks at a time. Believe me it is no fun at all jumping on and off ice-covered garbage barges from the deck of a moving tug at 4:00 a.m. underneath the Verrazano Narrows bridge.

That's just terrible. Now there's a character building job.

I used to load trucks at a UPS hub. Hardest job I've ever had. I would lose ten pounds of water weight, even after drinking 1+ gallons of water in a 4.5 hour shift.

My neighbor down the street used to do this. He's the strongest man I've ever met. Seriously. Not as in can lift 600lbs, but can work all day lifting heavy(ish) stuff and not take a break. Unreal. You have my respect man, that's one back breaking job.
