November goals - how did it go

The other forums have goals for next month and someone can make one here if they want, I'm indifferent. But it's also time to look at our november goals and evaluate.

1. 10k hands of 5/10
I've played 16k hands of 5/10 and will play no more. I'd initially hoped to move up sooner but a breakeven stretch prevented that.

2. 20k hands of 10/20
I've played 2k hands of 10/20 and will likely get in around 2k more. See above for the rest.

3. Regular strategy posts in MHL, SSL, SSNL, OP, Stud, and O8.
I did a good job posting on limit holdem and stud. Other poker posts to which I could respond intelligently weren't common but I'm satisfied with my performance there as well. My home NL game stopped going so I haven't been concerned with NL as much, and the O8 forum I discovered is mostly PLO8. I could not be less qualified to discuss that.

4. Force people to communicate and trust them when they acutally do.
I've done a good job with this. I feel I've gotten back to my old habits of putting people to the test more, but beliveing them more when they pass. Figuring out ways to extract honest responses does you no good if you don't believe it anyway.

5. 60 Hours live play.
I've played 55 hours and will finish that up tomorrow.

didn't have any goals but i had an awesome month, 40k 5/10 hands and several k richer.

First month of playing online. My goals were simple.

1. Play 10k hands. At 13.7k right now, thats pretty hardcore for a part timer in his first month.

2. Not lose. bankroll started small, had some real long downswings (150BB and 75BB) But still managed to double up.

3. Post and respond to posts. Well, I try my best.

4. Move up if possible. I was running good at 2/4 for about 3k hands, then had 5.7k hands of losses, at the end of that -150BB stretch, and with a low bankroll, I decided to take a shot at 2 tabling 3/6. Havent looked back, now am 3 to 4 tabling 3/6 with ease.

Lets see how december goes, will make goals for it later today.

I had several goals:

1) 20k hands between 2/4 and 3/6. I'm at 18.5k. Will likely just miss.

2) 2 BB/100. Wow did I miss. I had a down month. I lost at both levels. I guess that'll happen with AKs, AKo, among others are losers this month. Will spend some add'l time reviewing, but lost set over set, and many suckouts this month. Thank goodness I had a great month for tourneys and live play. That, along with bonuses/rakebreak kept if from being a true under board month.

3) Finish SSHE. Almost done. Will be done first week of Dec. Then, I've got King Yao's book waiting for me.

4) Play at least 10 tourneys. I played more than that, b/c I was at times frustrated with limit this month. I kicked ass here, so that was good. Harrington's books have changed my NL game forever.

1. Break even or better
I am now in the black on 1/2 FL, but I wont go over to 2/4 yet, I need to amass bankroll.

2. Buy pokertracker
I didnt, I bought Holdem calculator. Might be a bad move, I am going to buy PT later if need be.

3. Evaluate your stats.
I did. I have played 10 k hands on 1/2 winning 2.37bb/100 hands. I have played 8 k hands in 2/4 and lost 5.6bb/100 (or worse). I am going to amass bankroll before going up to 2/4 again.

4. Play thighter.
On my way. From 68% seen flops to 33.

5. Most importantly Read 2+2 everyday for tips

6. Buy the book SSHE by Ed miller and the rest
Done, on the way from Amazon now.

I am a fish as you might see of my goals, but I am improving and I am getting ok money on the 1/2 limit. 2/4 isnt where I should be yet.

Work on game, leaks and play better poker (the last 5 months have gone from losing to break even) - still not winning online but I am live

- Attempt another try at that small stakes challenge to jump start my BR no progress here either, still plugging away at .5/1 and 1/2

- Reread SSHE decided to read GSIH ...read the limit half and I am just starting the NL section
