if anyone objects to this process, say so.

I don't object, but I think we already have a fairly clear favorite. Perhaps you should just let Mat know about nolanfan rather than start a poll.

[/ QUOTE ]

Cool, unless there is some sort of objection.

Yeah, I tend to agree. We don't want others campaigning on the other 2+2 boards, and there is enough of a concensus here to has his name submitted.

Cool. I think Scott should notify Mat himself and can point to this thread if Mat asks why etc....

Wow, thanks for the support guys. Maybe I'll send Mat an e-mail, and do just that.

Out of most of the forums on here, this is one that I don't believe will need a large amount of moderating. I agree with some of the previous ideas though, that it's probably a good idea to have in place, for the occasional spam, and the ability to sticky threads - especially "official" threads when the baseball playoffs come around.

Generally, most of the threads in this section, IMO, are usually pretty good. Good-natured bantering on each side of an issue, with some arguments for various viewpoints.

And I'd even agree to not ban people if they say Nolan is overrated - everyone's entitled to their opinion.

I think the moderator should be an older experienced guy knowlegeable about sports but I'm not shilling for it as no way I could devote the time. Someone like Andy would be excellent but he probably wouldn't want it.

I could support Nolanfan too. He's fair and knowledgeable about sports.

I'll add my vote for nolanfan after reading this post.

I believe a moderator should first and foremost avoid abusing his powers. I'd much rather have too little, or even no moderation, than too much. But it sounds like nolanfan has the right idea.

I read here a lot more than I post, but IMO Scott (Nolanfan) would do a great job.
