Default Can just moving all-in ever be profitable?

Hypothetical situation:
I have a friend.
Said friend is about as smart as a box of rocks.
Said friend does not mind doing mindless, boring, easy work for minimal amounts of money.
Said friend wants to make money playing poker.

If I was to put my friend on the $25 NLHE at Party, and just give him a list of hands to move all-in with, what would they be? Is there even a selection of hands that could yield something like $.50/table hour? (For the purposes of this problem, free plays in the BB can be ignored.)

What if my friend could be taught to limp with pocket pairs, and move in if he flopped a set?

The answer is most definitely yes, however, you cant expect us to jsut develop a system for you. Do some of your own research.
Some hints though:
1. Pot Size (Pre-Flop)
2. Position
3. Hot and Cold Ratings

High pairs:

Raise 5xBB preflop and move in postflop.

Suited connectors:

Limp LP push in with any draw.

Small pockets:

limp push in with a set. Don't call any raises preflop.

High card:

Limp push in when hit.

JQx and lower:

Fold.

This _would_ make money.

It would make more money if you can teach what to do if 'reraised, bet into on the flop, etc etc.'

Anytime there are 5 limpers in fornt you it is probally +EV to push all-in with any two cards.

as many of you know, when i'm on tilt i have a habit of buying in for 50 cents at UB .01/.02 NL and pushing in with every hand hoping to lay a beat on someone.

occasionally when i get calmed down, i start "only" pushing in with 30% of my hands or so, at a five person table. unbelievably, this strategy is profitable! you get called by such crappy hands that i would say you can make at least $2/hour playing this way, as long as you find stupid opponents and the game is kept relatively shorthanded.

i'll bet if you taught him to move all-in with aces, limp with all pocket pairs and move all-in if he hits a set, he could be +EV, too. of course, this play works better in a game with less pre-flop raising and lower blinds, but c'est la vie.

I am of course intimately familiar with all 3 of those aspects. However, adding position and pot size to his checklist could be a dicey situation at best.

Hi Jay,

Thanks for your ideas, but I fear it's too complicated for my friend.

He has QQ on a AKK flop...unlike you or I, he's not going to think that discretion is the better part of valour here. Unless you're thinking that the times he loses money on these sorts of flops, will be made up by the times he wins money and the ragged flops? The same comments apply for your suited connectors and high cards.

Would anyone else more familiar with the Party $25NL games care to disagree with this comment?

I am very familiar w/DS's System. Both the one in TPFAP and the revised one that appeared in CP. I feel it would be too loose to be profitable. What I am trying to figure it out is what the optimal (and I use that term loosely) selection of hands is.
