Re: This flush tastes like burning
[ QUOTE ]
villain is not making a stopping bet of $500 when hero only has $800 left since he must call if hero comes over the top. having that said, i just call. [/ QUOTE ] A stopping bet wouldnt be totally pointless here if he is committed to calling any all-in. He may think that if he checks, hero will just shove 800, but if he bets 500, hero will just call the 500. |

Flop: (5 players, $50) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Checked to the button who bets $65, everyone calls, I call. Wow so much dead money and no real sign of strength. [/ QUOTE ] What would be a real sign of strength? Button basically bet the pot. |

could be value betting a weaker holding hoping the board scares me somehow. [/ QUOTE ] That's not a value bet, it's a bluff. |

Re: This flush tastes like burning
This looks far more like a blocking bet than a bet for value. I'd raise pot here. Although w/ $300 left I'm not sure there is much reason to.

I call. I think if you are beat mostly likely by Jacks and I doubt he calls a raise with anything losing to you.

Re: This flush tastes like burning
[ QUOTE ]
Just because you dont have much left doesnt mean you should push. As on any river decision, you need to put your opponent on a worse hand that will call. [/ QUOTE ] How about any legitimate hand he was betting, the majority of which don't beat Hero's hand? He is not making a blocking bet of 500 hoping to save 300 and not get to see his opponent's hand. |
