Default Why Is It ......?

A player i respect very much and has done very well in recent years said to me that "for most people .... if they are approaching the final table of an MTT, they play their best when they are the short stack" obviously not super short, but short enough not to be THAT creative etc ...
I thought about this and then witnessed 3 tourneys tonight where the short stack with 10-14 players left, went on to win it. I then thought about ZeeJustin's post when he said "mo money mo problems" when weaker players have a stack....

just curious on some of your thoughts on short stack advantage nearing the final table .... if there is any

Arg, this is like that whole redzone crap.

It's not that you play better on the shortstack, its just your decisions are simpler. A5 on the button w/ 7 bbs? puuuuuuush. A5 on the button w/20 bbs, raise- uh oh someone reraised you, you have another decision to make!

See where I'm going with this?

Agreed - alot of the decisions have been taken away and it does tend to be all in or nothing.

I personally find I want to kick myself when I'm just over that stage and should have made a move with cards which, if short stacked, would have been an auto push - I don't make the move and the table folds round.

I certainly wouldn't call it an advantage though

From HOH - bubble is the best time to play aggressive poker vs. weaker players looking to cash. Short Stacks have fewer options, so tend to play more like the style ascribed in Dan's book.
