Default Re: World Class Player Reveals Secrets

While I myself am not a world class player, I am winning consistently online at cash NL, sit n gos, and have done well in multitable tourneys.

I would like to say that there is some merit to what the poster is trying to say...in the long run, the ones that make the most are the sites. I mean those good players who can make money online will do well obviously but they are also giving a TON of rake to the sites, probably in multiples of their profit. While this may also apply to brick and mortar casino rooms, it would be more exaggerated online due to the higher rake for lower limits and the fact that people (including myself) multitable which reduces the quality of your concentration and overall game somewhat and you are paying multiple rakes. The point is that one can still win but the real winners are the sites, bar none.

wow, this is almost as dumb as the OP. I don't know where you are playing, but every B&M casino I have ever been to has a higher rake than comparable limits online.
You say the sites are making more money than the players? Really? No kidding? Newsflash! We don't care. The sites provide winning playeres with a valuable commodity and have earned their rake. And you think multi-tabling is bad for winning players? Oh man, I don't even know where to start with that one.
Saying that the sites make more money than the best players is like saying that Steinbrenner makes more money than A-Rod. Its true but it doesn't make the money the players get any less valuable.

If you are a World Class Player then I'm sure you wouldn't mind sharing your real name. Sorry I don't believe you.

No. There's not.

Really? You think?

Not even close.

So you're saying multi-tabling is a bad thing? Wrong again...

No [censored]. I don't think anyone with some common sense has ever thought otherwise.

But thanks for a useless post, in support of another useless post, filled with horrible information.

Not sure I'm first, but I call BS on your "story". You are not a WCP, and I doubt you ever won $56,000 playing, much less $560K -

Sorry you can't beat the online games, there are plenty of us that are.

By the way, where are the "secrets" you were going to reveal? Is it that you can't win? Big deal.

His secret is that he thinks online poker is rigged. My guess is this post is a introduction to his next post of why online poker is rigged.

These two quotes are the basic points of what he is trying to say.
"You see in a casino the bad players come and go, but mostly they go. The bad players contribute to the good players. Online the good players contribute to the bad players! You know what I mean."

"Oh I've got some more theories and such, but that's enough for now. I wouldn't want to burden my new friends with information overload right out of the shoot."

I think there may be more truth in this poster's post than most of the respondents (thus far) are willing to admit.

I played a few days of live $20-$40 a few months ago. It was literally like day and night compared to the online games.

Hell, I may go back to playing full-time live soon; I've been considering it anyway.

This could be very true in my case. It all comes down to table selection, trying to find those tables with all good players on it before I sit down. Sometimes you make mistakes and sit at tables where all the players are more pitifully skilled than you. That's trouble.

After a while, all the good players bust out and then all you have left are the worst of the worst players and it gets harder and harder to make money off of them.

It gets harder and harder to play at the bottom of your game, and then your profits dwindle. Even just folding until you get 7-2 offsuit doesn't seem to work. You have to begin including 6-2 off and other such types. But it always seems someone makes a terrible bet here and there and wins the pot.

I don't know what the answer is for the long term. Maybe just playing with a blindfold and making your bets without knowing what your cards are. Some sites allow you to play without seeing your hole cards. I guess that's the logical way for online play.

We just have to hang in there for now until we figure a way to always be the worst player and getting our money into the pot with the worst of it.
