Default Should a dealer ever remove......

cards from a players hand?
heres the short version of what happened...after the river in an obvious split pot situation i held my cards face down next to the board cards while waiting to see the other 2 players cards....i heard him say "turn em over" twice...as i saw that it was in fact a split pot the dealer removed the cards from my hand and mucked them...he said he thought i was surrendering...bullshit, he was mad cus i was waiting till last to turn em over. cost me 1/3 of the pot and put me on tilt in a very fish heavy game....

should dealer EVER take cards from a players hand or wait for them to be layed down or tossed????

No the dealer shouldn't. In practice if you are slowing down the game (everyone is turnign up their hands anyway so what did you gain by waiting until last to run up) or abusing the dealer your cards may go in the muck when you least expect. I know of dealers that if someone sitting next to them is cussing or otherwise pissing them off that when the action is at the other end of the table will pull the cards out of the players hand and claim they were unprotected.

No they shouldn't. I've seen a player maintain a white-knuckle death grip on his cards as the dealer was incorrectly trying to kill his hand after misreading the board. This dealer messed up, but if you want to claim the pot, just turn your freaking cards over and let everybody see them so at least if the dealer tries to incorrectly muck your hand you may have some recourse. That's also why you should ALWAYS protect cards with some inanimate object so there is no confusion.

No, dealers should not remove cards from your hand.

But you asked for that one, just turn them the frig over already and skip the slowroll.

i once got into a tug-o-war match w/ a dealer. i won the hand and dealer grabbed my cards and tried to put them in the muck. i pulled them back. and then he pulled them towards him and then i pulled them. it was pretty ridiculous.

so he said something like "i need your cards sir." and i told him you can have my cards if you tell table the pot is mine.

a local guy that just sat down turned to the dealer and said "newbie" and the dealer smiled at him.

i pulled every winning hand after that against the rail so the dealer couldnt touch it.

bwana.

Dealer and you were both wrong. Flip your hand quickly, then trade your cards for your share of the pot.

Quit slowrolling, jackass. The dealer was wrong, but you got what you deserved.

You should kick dealer in nuts for taking your cards.

Dealer should kick you in nuts for your "I'll show you after you show me" BS.

Then it's all good.
