In person?

[/ QUOTE ]

Couple of times when I was a news reporter. One was a body at the bottom of a waterfall. Was pretty far away from that one.

Another time though, I covered a murder-suicide. Happened in the parking lot of a local shopping center. They rope everything off, but they actually don't cover the bodies while they're still doing the investigation. The girlfriend who was the murder victim I saw pretty clearly on the pavement. She was missing a good portion of the back of her head.

Not good times.

I saw 2 guys get killed - in person. So yeah, I saw their bodies afterward also. Pretty nasty sight.

They were driving in a sweet, old convertible Corvette on Interstate 684 (you NYers might know it). The driver was doing the "I am so cool" thing, weaving in and out of traffic, speeding up behind someone and making quick passing moves, only to slow down after the pass and go along with traffic again. Pointless aggressive driving - he wasn't speeding ahead to get anywhere quickly, just showing off. He did this over and over again for a few miles.

Sure enough, he was ahead of us a bit and my old man and I were talking about how stupid these guys were when the Vette tries another quick pass maneuver and he looses it. The collision ensues and BOTH guys get tossed out of the car like rag dolls into 3 lanes of 60 MPH moving traffic. Both got totally mangled - and I mean like chop meat.

We were only a little behind the accident so we both sprinted to the where the guys were. We both know CRP, etc., etc. so we thought we could maybe help....no dice.

Ever see a blood stain on the pavement from when a car hits a deer and drags it for a while? There were two of them at this scene. Soooo nasty. I've made damn sure I've had my seatbelt on ever since.

Other than your typical funeral, etc. stuff, no. Though I have seen people die, but they weren't declared dead while I was there. Disturbing situation that happened when I was about 16.

Probably wouldn't be as disturbing if I was in a field that might lead to more exposure to such a thing (ie ER, military).

(Medical Student)

I've dissected one - head to toe. One of the greatest and most interesting (and at times weird) learning experiences I've ever had.

I thank all of those who donate their bodies. I honestly don't know if I could do it, myself.
