House fire. A two year old and a 9 month old burned so badly they looked like chunks of coal.

car wreck. kid got thrown out of the back of a bronco that had the top removed. It rolled over him and squished his head.

car wreck. 5th grader I sorta knew got decapitated in a car wreck. Rode by on the school bus for that one shortly after it happened. The human body has a lot of blood in it.

Probably ~20. Worked as an EMT for a number of years. Never saw anyone actively get killed, just saw the aftermath.

My girlfriend is a nurse on a medical ward (or was is lady of leisure now) its a bit unerving ringing her up and her saying someone has just died on the ward, just having a sandwich before laying the body out.

Yep, at umass, I saw a body laying on the ground after a guy jumped out of the 17th story of one of the high rises.

I work at an animal hospital so I see dead dogs, cats, guineau pigs, ferrets, possums, mice, etc. all the time. The only creepy part is when you have to bring them down to pathology to dump them in cold storage. The bodies aren't so bad as they are all in a body bag, except for the horses, they don't fit in bags, so sometime you open up the door and there's this huge corpse looking at you.

i've only seen dead people at funerals and as cadavers. however, my dad worked as a coroner for the sheriffs dept for 12 years. one of the worst things he said he's seen is a head on collision between and semi truck and 3, yes 3, cars in the oncoming lane. i think there was only one driver in each car but they were young, about college age. all of them died. he said he had to walk around looking for body parts (there were a lot) and had to pick them up for transport to the morgue. he remembers having to pick up a womans breast that had been detached from her body. not a good day.
