Re: AKs in the BB, homogeneous flop, sizeable pot.

I didn't advocate 3-betting. Check my original post in this thread. [/ QUOTE ] You are right, it was Chairman Wood. Sorry. |

Re: AKs in the BB, homogeneous flop, sizeable pot.
I get that it may be mathematical to go ahead, but a second caller cannot be bluffing, chances are that he has the goods. So I would fold, I doubt the pot is that mandatory when there is only two opponents left. Besides, I think that being "pot committed" is the worst trap to fall into, mainly because it something you set on yourself.

Why does someone who cold-calls have to have "the goods?" |

3bet flop, fold if capped. Check/fold any spade.

Re: AKs in the BB, homogeneous flop, sizeable pot.
I am folding because even if you are counting outs, you cannot count the king of spades, and it is risky to count the aces because any pocket pairs are going have two pair or a full house, so you are really looking at maybe four outs, and you would need 10.5 to one odds for this to be a correct call, against pot equity and pot commitment, this is a clear fold, forget it. And the thought that a caller cannot be bluffing comes from several books by Sklansky and Malmouth. I know that this isn't always correct, but it seems like good guidelines if you cannot lock an opponent. Please correct me if I am wrong. |

Re: AKs in the BB, homogeneous flop, sizeable pot.
I think this is a neat spot to talk about pot equity. You have a slight edge now now but will either gain or loose a lot based on the Turn card. Also, since the pot is raised 6-way PF you can do nothing with your bet to protect and therefore if you bet you will be pushing a razor thin edge in a pot likely to be raised, correctly, by anyone holidng a big spade.
Therefore, I will check call the flop and either lead the Turn or c/r to a blank and pitch it if another Spade drops. |
