First off, in a full ring game, I wouldn't limp with 22 from UTG or UTG+1 (or UTG+2 for that matter). As you found out, sets are at about 33% of their value when played out of position. So even if you get lucky and the pot isn't raised significantly preflop AND you hit your set, you cannot get paid off as easily.

That being said, your flop check isn't that bad - if there's ever a board where you don't mind a free card too much, this one is it.

On the turn, I would lead out with a 3/4 pot sized bet. This should entice a pair of Ks to raise it up, allowing you to reraise if you think there might be other callers, or flat call if you think it will be heads up.

On the river, I would again bet anywhere between 2/3 to pot sized. You got lucky on that check and got a bet, but any intelligent player, if they see someone flat call a raise and reraise after checking the flop ... is super suspicious, and rightly so.

In other words, you got lucky by having someone do your betting for you, but most of the time you won't. You need to take charge of the hand and bet out, letting subpar hands reluctantly call or two-pair hands reraise.
