Bandwagon fans aren't fans so they don't count.

FYP

I was absolutely embarrased when I went to a game at the Linc last year. These fans are passionate, but WAY over the line to opposing fans.

Seattle fans tend to be ignorant bandwagoners with little sense of history and piss me off 75% of time.

[/ QUOTE ]

I daresay Portland fans are worse.

My problem is they claim to be the fans. Such as the one guy at my work that "is a fan" of both Duke and UNC. How is that possible?

Seattle fans aren't nearly as bad as some people think. I've heard the fans in Seattle criticized a lot,but they are about the same as most fans in most cities. They may not have much of a sense of history, but that is at least in part because the city doesn't have much of a sports history.

It's only been 10 years since the city experienced it's first playoff race in baseball (the wild card). There is such a lack of history here that '95 is being celebrated and remembered (for good reason) this season, but it was only an ALCS run.

And what's wrong with being a bandwagon jumper? Doesn't that make a fan smart?

In a way, they might be the best fans.

Minnesota fans blow. Fair weather fans to the max, rude as hell to opponents fans.

Not at all. It makes them spineless. It makes them have no pride. Dont be that guy that goes out and buys a Red Sox hat just because they won last year. No one likes that guy.

I dont have a problem with someone liking a player on a team and rooting for that team. For instance I am a huge UK fan and root for the Pistons because of Tayshaun Prince, but I am not going to say they are my team or go out and buy a hat.

What are the characteristics of a bad fan, assuming that they are not bandwagon fans?
