Default Critique my play - $11 MTT

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (5 handed) converter

SB : (Villain)/ (t3495)
BB (t5360)
UTG (t3370)
MP (t1132)
Hero (t3465)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
2 folds, Hero raises to t450, SB: (Villain)/ calls t375, 1 fold.

Flop: (t1050) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Villain bets t450, Hero raises to t1050, Villain raises to t3045, Hero folds.

Final Pot: t5145

My read is that Villain is solid, but capable of making a move.

That bad huh? I often make moves like this pre-flop on the button if folded. Pick up the blinds and on to the next hand. What makes this difficult, is that I have a part of the flop. Should I have raised to what I saw as a probe bet, or folded?

Why? He's in Harrington's 'yellow' zone, its an unopened pot with only 2 people left to act, and makes a bet that won't leave him crippled if he loses. Unless he's been stealing blinds enough to make people extra suspicious, this doesn't seem so bad to me.

the more i look at this, the more i like his line here. i think the raise with 108 is marginal. Given that flop, I think I might go broke here. I respect your ability to lay this bad boy down.

What I liked most about your play was the reraise. U were able to get away, and you still have a manageable stack.

dats no limit baby

I like your raise PF. Button, CO, MP3 raises often will pick up blinds regardless of your holdings. Also seeing as how its 5-handed, is it a bubble hand(?), where people will fold all but premium hands just trying to move up in levels.

I think your flop fold is also fine after the reraise, though I most likely would have called the initial flop bet and re-evaluated villians actions on turn. I feel like I'd like to get to showdown as cheap as possible....

Any problems with this?

what range are we putting this guy on? i think jacks? did this guy call with a 7? I am not sure I give him credit for that. certainly qq-aa is reraising preflop. perhaps he has a read on you as you have made these plays previously. depending on how the tourney has gone, i may be moving in here. and seeing something like a10, k10

There is nothing wrong with a button raise with T8o if it has a decent chance of taking the blinds.

I might just call the flop and try to call villain down.

The problem with your raise is it seems unlikely you raised with a 7 preflop and it seems unlikley you would raise with a 7 on the flop. Therefore, villain could easily be making a move.

I might call the push? Would villain push with a 7. If villain had JJ-AA, wouldn't he have reraised preflop. He could have a higher ten. On balance, I think it is a call. I depends on your read of villain and how tricky/aggressive he is.

I'm fine w/ your line except that I'm not too thrilled w/ having to deal w/ the chip leader at this point with this hand. Good lay down to his re-raise.

There were 11 left on 2 tables, top 5 pay.

Villain was a good player but this was a tough lay-down.
