Default AQo HU - bet the river unimproved?

Against more players I generally bet the flop w/overcards (if I was the PF raiser) and check/call or check/fold the turn depending on how it looks.... Here since there were less people in the hand I thought it might be worth a second shot at the pot... do you play it this way? Should I also bet the river?

Will a worse hand call?

Will a better hand fold?

I'm not sure. I've certainly been called down by missed draws/high cards before, and there is a possibility that someone would fold a small pair...but I don't think either of those outcomes are very likely... So I guess I should check it How about the turn?

You have to ask yourself what will he do?

This is what I think.

If he has bottom pair he will call, if he has nothing he will fold.

I think in this particular instance, no.

Busted draws won't pay off on the river, and generally if a pair is going to call on the turn, it's going to call on the river too.

He shows J8o to win the pot. He wasn't folding, so you guys are right about checking the river. And the turn?

I'm all for betting the flop, but the combination of his playing from his position, and with two 'danger cards' on the board AND you've hit nothing yourself, I would probably have checked the turn instead of betting it.

Of course I'm a wimp.
