Default Re: \"Coin Flip\" ???

[ QUOTE ]
Calling AK vs a pair all-in preflop a coinflip, has always seemed pretty liberal to me coming from math minded people.

I guess you can get away with calling it a coin flip if you are playing with tourney chips, but in a cash game it feels too generous imho.

[/ QUOTE ]

Isn't there usually enough dead money in the pot to make up for this?

Ofcourse if UTG open-pushes for 100BB and you know he has exactly QQ calling is a mistake.

But it usually goes raise, re-raise, push and at this point you will often get a good enough price to make the call EV-neutral, especially if original raiser is somewhat short (which is most often the case when i call all-in w/ AK atleast), or even +EV. Especially if he will have a dominated hand / worse unpaired hand some % of the time.
