Default PS 11 AT short stacked

Villian has played solid. do i need to fold and wait for a better spot?

Fold. You're not desperate and you have at least 5 more chances to be the one who gets his money in first.

You're going to see AJ-AK a lot of times from a solid player.

Yup fold. His range is not good for you. You're very possibly dominated. If not dominated, you'd only be slightly ahead.

I'd fold here. No FE, no chance of blowing him off the pot post flop with a Stop'n'go, big chance you're behind. And you have 5bb and 1k chips.. nah, this is for sure one to let go.
