chips for home games that are most like casino chips?
Hi
what chips are the most similar to casino chips? I wanna practice my chip tricks, and want to get the right weight etc, but also get a set for friendly home games. would clay-composite 7.2g or 14g be the closest match? I'm in the UK and want to buy from amazon.uk, so I'm after weights/types etc rather than a specific recommendation, but hey, feel free if you've got any info at all on this. |

I have 11.5g chips for my home games, they're fine. Why bother performing tricks though? Surely you'd earn more money playing good poker?

Thanks.
For intimidation purposes in tourneys. I like to present a real tight image at the start to be able to steal the blinds easier in the middle. |

for intimidation purposes [/ QUOTE ] or to look like a total dweeb. Honestly - anybody doing tricks with chips at a tourney puts a bullseye on their backs and looks totally stupid. (IMHO) Plus - why look tight at the start - I would MUCH rather look loose and have nobody respect me. If you are in a spot where you have to play tight THOS people will be gone and you tight play when the blinds are small is meaningless. Grinderswarehouse - NOT just another BLOG |

[/ QUOTE ] I really meant riffling in the main to present a long-term experienced player. But also with the odd trick when I do want to be remembered (say just when I'm about to go all-in with the nuts - or for looser styles to advertise a bluff) - the intention being to draw a bullseye on me I want them to remember the hand I had next time they see the trick, and mess up their heads just a little more. I definitely don't mean put on a show! |
