Default PL 200 6-max: How\'s this with AQs in BB?

$200 PL Texas Hold'em
Seat 3 is the button
Total number of players : 5
Seat 1: kobebeef ( $225.73 )
Seat 2: rxsg057 ( $443.37 )
Seat 5: HERO ( $221.55 )
Seat 4: Yocu7 ( $238.20 )
Seat 3: Finansen ( $198.70 )
Yocu7 posts small blind [$1].
HERO posts big blind [$2].
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to HERO [ As Qs ]
kobebeef folds.
rxsg057 folds.
Finansen raises [$7].
Yocu7 folds.
HERO calls [$5].

Is this standard? Villain was new to the table, no reads on him.

Looks reasonable.

If Villain is tricky, I might just try and draw at price. What was your plan if he reraised or called, you bricked, and he led the pot again?

If he re-raised, I planned to go all-in. Is that also reasonable? I would have been stumped if he pushed after my raise though.

If he had called and I had bricked, I dunno. It would depend on villain's bet.

Yeah, I'd play it the same way on any low board with the spade draw. I think having the board paired here is quite good cause it's much harder for him to hit the board hard with a PP.

That board is also nice, because your in the BB, and could have a garbage hand you were trying to "protect" and that flop could have hit you fairly squarely in the face w/ a shovel.

Yes, my thoughts exactly. I figured if villain had an overpair I could scare him with a raise/re-raise, if he had happened to call, my ace and flush outs were certainly good.
