Default Re: What are your favorite lines spoken at the table?

This russian guy I work with was at a casino playing with an older woman. They were in a rather large pot in a limit that this woman was clearly not comfortable in. After the flop, reraising numerous times this russian says to the woman, "Listen. I know you have kings or queens, but I have aces. I feel really bad, just fold. I really feel bad taking your money." The woman responds, "Well, okay. Thanks."

She mucks her kings face up, and he turns up 82 offsuit and starts laughing as hard as he can. Pretty mean

Not really a favorite line but something that cracked me up. The Taj last night, they had the front desk closed so the floor was directing people to seats for inside the room. Young kid walks up with his sunglasses already on and tells the floor he wants the play hold'em. Floor responds what limit would you like to play. Kid says "How about the 1-2 no-limit, but if that isn't available, maybe I could take a shot at the 2-4 game." I nearly spit my red bull across the table. If the 10-20 game I was sitting at wasn't so juicy, I might have followed him to the no-limit game.

I am HU at final table of PokerStars tourney. Call a minraise with 72s. Flop comes x63 with 2spades. I push, opp calls.

After seing his hand (6C5C), I comment "I knew I had the best hand preflop..."

Because he was wearing sunglasses?

I don't think you do yourself any favors if you assume every young kid wearing shades is a fish.

The way I read this the kid's first choice was 1/2/NL, but if that wasn't available he wanted the 2/4 LIMIT game. Who walks either wanting to play NL or the lowest limit available?

I think you read that wrong. Or the OP just told the story crapping. Plus, maybe the guy wanted to slum at 2/4 before the NL table opened up.

Either way- seems like a lousy assumption that he's a fish.

The more I hear stuff like this, the more I'm tempted to put my contacts back in and wear some wraparounds into a Casino- just so that nitty fools think they can take my money.

Anyone who has sunglasses at a 2/4 table is usually a tool who can't play cards.

But that is because anyone without sunglasses at a 2/4 table usually can't play cards, but isn't as much of a tool.

If I see anyone in sunglasses in the 1/2 game that looks under 25, I can assume they are better than a few fools and take it seriously. But they usually are morons. The 1/2 game isn't much riskier than the 2/4. You buy in for 100 at each.

I don't think so. Granted there are occasions where you'll be wrong. But if he is a good player its not like you're going to give him your stack. I think the odds of him being a fish are sufficient to warrant moving tables.
