Default Atlantic City NL cashgames?

Hi all --

My first post on this site...been reading it for months now. Anyway, I'm headed down to AC in a couple of weeks and was wondering what casinos you would recommend for 1-2 / 2-5 NL cash games. Could you also provide any details regarding max buy-ins etc? - Much appreciated

trop has a 1/2 nl min 50 max 200 that is soft but full of regulars. Just be aware they love to bet the flush and straight draws on the come.Taj is the same and the borgata is ruff but the eye candy or as my friends would say the box office is great.. good luck and hope to see your trip report soon

Thanks for the info -- sounds like they play draws the same way i do

Will be bringing my girlfriend along, who'll be playing live for only the second time! She's in LA right now and just took down a $1200 bad beat jackpot at the Commerce with aces full!

The AC coverage on our wiki is actually quite good. The redlinks (missing articles) are newer, smaller rooms, but there's good detail on the Borg, Trop, and Taj which are the three rooms of substantial size.

The max buy in is actually 300 for the 1-2 games and is 500 for the 2-5 games. Ive only played 1-2, but I hear the 2-5 games are just as loose. You will find 1-2 and 2-5 all the time at the Borg and the taj. The trop always has 1-2 and it usually has 2-5.

I think.

Thanks for the replies so far everyone! The $300 cap in the 1-2 is so much better than what I'm used to at 2-4 NL at Foxwoods ($300) and 1-2 (only $100 as many of you know!)

Anyway, do any of the big casinos spread Pot-Limit Omaha High? Prolly my best and definitely my favorite game...thanks again

If you are interested in big games, Borgata generally has a 5-10 in the evenings and bigger games on weekends. Tropicana has a 5-10 and 10-20 on weekends.

Some of the smaller rooms, like Ballys, Sands, and Harrahs have a table or two of 1-2 or 1-3. Since there are only one or two tables, you could run into a long wait if you hit it wrong.

I have found the 2/5 generally a lot tighter than 1/2, but you can run into tight or loose tables with either.

While we are at it, how does the 1-2 rake compare to the 2-5 time charge?

They may be taking slightly more with the time charge, but a lower percentage of the larger pots. If you play tight, the rake is slightly better for you, but I wouldn't worry about it.

In general time charges are a pretty good deal compared to the large percentage rakes on low limits and the higher rakes at non-US casinos.
